A Journal de Montréal survey found that 37 percent of those surveyed put public transit and transportation issues first in the upcoming municipal election says the Gazette. “Three-quarters of Montréal Islanders want improved bus and metro service,” the article says.

Why, then, would the province increase highway capacity in Montréal with only token consultation of the people who actually live there?
