Lecture: Photographer Brian Merrit and David Carruthers of the Westmount action committee will speak about their experiences in 1971 when the Turcot was being built.  Urbanist Jason Prince coordinator of McGill’s CURA  action-research project “Making Megaprojects Work for Communities” will discuss the effects the current project will have on the city today.

A summer 2009 survey shows strong support for measures to reduce the number of cars circulating on Montreal streets.

This result comes just months before Montrealers vote for their municipal councillors.

Leger Marketing conducted the poll at the request of the Conseil regional de l’environnement (CRE)-Montreal, an umbrella group of environmental organisations that has the respect and ear of various levels of government.

576 Montrealers were polled during a two week period this past summer.
